About The Position

Carolina Animal Specialty & Emergency (CASE) is seeking an experienced Veterinary Receptionist / Client Service Representative (CSR) to support our Specialty Services team in Hickory, NC. This is a high-impact, client-facing role designed for professionals who excel in veterinary reception, client engagement, and service excellence within fast-paced medical environments. Our Veterinary Receptionists/CSRs are essential to the patient experience—guiding clients from initial contact through discharge and follow-up with accuracy, empathy, and professionalism. As a 24-hour specialty and emergency hospital , CASE provides Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Emergency & Critical Care services. This role requires individuals who are confident in advanced client communication, scheduling complexity, and multi-department coordination .

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Veterinary Receptionist, Veterinary CSR, or medical front desk professional (veterinary, specialty, ER, or human healthcare)
  • Proven ability to manage high-volume client interactions
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong multitasking and organizational abilities
  • Ability to maintain professionalism in fast-paced, high-stress environments
  • Managing complex scheduling and workflows
  • Handling demanding client interactions independently
  • Delivering a high-level, concierge-style client experience

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in veterinary specialty or emergency medicine
  • Familiarity with advanced scheduling systems and EMR platforms

Responsibilities

  • Deliver an elevated veterinary receptionist / client service experience from first interaction through completion of care
  • Manage high-volume phone lines and front desk operations with efficiency and professionalism
  • Schedule and coordinate specialty appointments with strong attention to detail
  • Serve as a liaison between clients, specialists, and clinical teams
  • Provide clear, compassionate communication regarding services, expectations, and timelines
  • Maintain accurate and thorough client and patient records
  • Navigate sensitive or emotional situations with confidence and professionalism
  • Support client retention and satisfaction through exceptional service
