About The Position

M Health Fairview (Fairview Medical Transportation) has been successfully meeting the needs of our community for more than 134 years. Our headquarters facility, located in St. Paul, was built in 2010 in partnership with the St. Paul Port Authority. We support our community by providing more than 60,000 calls annually using our innovative equipment. Our ambulance teams are staffed by some of the most expert Paramedics and EMTs in the region, helping to make M Health Fairview a leader in Minnesota for emergency and non-emergency ambulance service. Do you want to work with an outstanding team? We are now seeking a full-time Emergency Vehicle Mechanic to perform installation and repair to customer agency vehicles per Fairview and/or manufacturer's guidelines. This position is eligible for a $3,000.00 sign on bonus! Full-time, 80 hours per two weeks Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM. No weekends! Requirements

  • 5 years automotive experience or
  • 3 years automotive experience and vocational/technical training in Automotive/Vehicle Repair
  • Knowledge of ECM system and ability to read diagnostic charts
  • Knowledge of electric systems and add-on vehicle components including ability to read electrical schematics.
  • Drivers License and DMV record that meet the insurability requirements
  • Certified Automotive Tech (ASE-Certified)

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with Emergency Services Vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Maintains knowledge of, and complies with, all relevant laws, regulations, policies, procedures and standards.
  • Actively participates in creating and implementing improvements.
  • Performs maintenance/repair of the HealthEast Medical Transportation fleet of vehicles, which includes ambulances, wheelchair vans and delivery vans.
  • Performs preventative maintenance as required per HealthEast and/or manufacturers guidelines.
  • Provides immediate support vehicle operators for issues that develop while the vehicles are in use.
  • Performs new vehicle equipment installation.
  • Performs chassis and module equipment installation to maintain the ambulance fleet.
  • Monitors, assists, and supports the basic repair work of the shop support and apprentice mechanic
