About The Position

Emergency TAR Staff are on‑call, staff‑level employees who provide immediate coverage during emergent staffing needs. When activated, Emergency TAR Staff function in a role comparable to a Residential Psychiatric Technician (RPT) and are assigned to cottages as needed to ensure the safety, supervision, and continuity of care for residents. Emergency TAR Staff work under the direct guidance of the designated In‑Charge Person for the shift and are expected to follow all program policies, procedures, and treatment protocols while providing supervision and support consistent with the Teaching‑Family Model and trauma‑informed care principles.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct, day‑to‑day care, supervision, and support for children and adolescents residing in the program.
  • Maintain the safety and well-being of residents by actively supervising youth and responding appropriately to behavioral, emotional, or safety concerns.
  • Follow direction from the In‑Charge Person to meet immediate supervision, coverage, or operational needs.
  • Interact with residents in a warm, respectful, and professional manner that communicates empathy, hope, and consistency.
  • Assist with routine daily activities, structure, and programming within the cottage or assigned area.
  • Accurately document observations, incidents, and required information according to program policies.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, confidentiality requirements, and client rights standards.
  • Model appropriate behavior and maintain professional boundaries with residents at all times.
