The Emergency Services Technician offers an excellent opportunity in supporting patient care and covering administrative and clinical procedures. Working in collaboration across a team of practitioners, you will ensure the best possible health care outcomes and patient experiences. For more than 70 years, MultiCare Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital & Health Network has cared for children and families across the South Sound. Anchored by an 82-bed pediatric hospital in Tacoma, Mary Bridge offers a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 24-hour pediatric-only Emergency Department and a state-designated Level II Pediatric Trauma Center. As a comprehensive pediatric health network, Mary Bridge delivers expert, family-centered care across inpatient, outpatient and specialty services, supported by multidisciplinary teams dedicated to the unique needs of every child and family we serve.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Current Washington state certification/licensure as a CNA or NA-R, MA-P, MA-C or successful completion of EMT Training Course
  • MA-P or EMT will be required to obtain NA-R within ninety 90 days of hire
  • CNA, NA-R, or EMT will be required to obtain MA-P within a specified date as determined by location; Mary Bridge Hospital and Yakima locations does not require the MA-P
  • Current BLS Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a CNA, NA-R, corpsman, or EMT, in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or acute care setting within the last three (3) years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in providing direct patient care as directed by health care practitioner
  • Engage critical thinking skills in maintaining a safe, therapeutic and aesthetic environment.
  • Utilize the knowledge base of nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care using the nursing process according to hospital policies, procedures, and protocols
  • Collaborate with the team to facilitate overall improvement in quality of care, patient experience, and cost reduction
  • Foster a learning environment for patients/families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team
  • Advocate for ethical and holistic care promoting the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds
