About The Position

To coordinate and provide the day-to-day operations of Emergency Services programs and provide supervision, ensuring that policies and practices of Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston are followed. To identify and support the needs of the rural communities of Steuben and Livingston counties and promote a positive presence of Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston throughout.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Two years of experience dealing with the provision of human services and/or medical related area.
  • Possession a valid NYS Driver’s license and a driver's record considered acceptable by agency and insurance carrier.
  • Continuous use of a reliable, registered and insured vehicle.
  • Exceptional time management skills and ability to effectively and meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal/written skills
  • Ability to work in the following software programs: Windows, Microsoft Office, and multiple online software platforms as required by funders and partner organizations
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle confidential information with discretion
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviors and attitudes which support organizational mission, philosophy, and policies
  • Ability to work in a cooperative and helpful manner with all individuals
  • Willingness and ability to foster agency and program wide cooperation and teamwork through use of positive/constructive communication techniques

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize assignments, plan, and complete work projects with minimal direction

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and provides the day-to-day operations of the Emergency Services programs, including supervision of staff and volunteers, including tracking, reporting, monitoring and implementation of program objectives.
  • Directs and implements the recruitment and training, development, compliance, duties, scheduling, and ongoing support system of Emergency Services staff.
  • Supports the Manager in the recruitment and training, development, compliance, duties, scheduling, and ongoing support system of Emergency Services volunteers.
  • Mentors new staff to all program operations and compliance regulations agency and program policy and procedures, and program goals and objectives.
  • Ensures assessment of client need occurs with appropriate screening tool relevant to the program to determine referrals to other interagency programs or external helping agencies.
  • Aids staff in providing help with stabilization through non-financial means such as negotiation with medical providers, utility companies, landlords, pharmacies, and legal referral (etc.).
  • Troubleshoots difficult cases with staff and/or volunteers.
  • Ensure service being provided is equitable, understandable, and respectful quality care and services that are responsive to diverse cultural health beliefs and practices, preferred languages, health literacy and other communication needs.
  • Completes necessary ordering of goods/services, documentation, progress notes, data entry, and/or reports pertaining to services rendered.
  • Assists in generating project service analysis data.
  • Maintains prudent management of funds and reporting of resources.
  • Maintains monthly tracking of non-monetary donations and assists Development Department by collecting and sharing accurate information for donor acknowledgement.
  • Maintains an active and supportive interaction with appropriate community partners to facilitate the most efficient and comprehensive use of resources.
  • Coordinates by working with volunteers, managing donations, creating and modifying holiday events, and special offerings to the community.
  • Works with the Manager and Director to be a visionary for the needs of the community to determine specific donation needs and develop created initiatives to garner support from new and existing community stakeholders.
  • Participates in meetings and functions as necessary to stay current on changes and policies of all Emergency Services programs and Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston policies, including coordinating with outside community partners or providing training on relevant topics.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
