Emergency Services Program Manager Location: 241 Greenhouse Road, Lexington, VA Employer: Rockbridge Area Community Services (RACS) Are you a licensed mental health professional with a passion for crisis intervention and leadership? Join our team at Rockbridge Area Community Services (RACS) as the Emergency Services Program Manager and play a critical role in providing 24/7 emergency psychiatric services to our community. Your leadership will help ensure that individuals in crisis receive compassionate, high-quality care when they need it most. Position Overview As the Emergency Services Program Manager, you will oversee the 24/7 Emergency Services Program and Rockbridge and Bath Region Crisis Intervention Team (RBR CIT) Assessment Site. You'll provide both clinical and administrative leadership, ensuring high-quality emergency psychiatric services for individuals experiencing mental health or substance use crises. Why Join RACS? Background Investigation Requirements: All applicants are subject to a background investigation. Investigations may include fingerprint checks (State Police); local agency checks; employment verification; verification of education (relevant to employment); and other checks based on the position. Probationary Period: All persons that are newly hired, rehired, transferred, promoted, or demoted into a Rockbridge Area Community Services position must serve a new 6-month probationary period. Requirements

  • Master's degree in a human services-related field (social work, counseling, psychology, etc.).
  • Licensed in Virginia as an LCSW, LPC, or LCP.
  • Minimum of 5 years of behavioral health leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Certified Pre-Screener in Virginia (or must obtain certification within 3 months of hire).
  • Strong knowledge of crisis intervention strategies, emergency psychiatric care, and behavioral health services.

Nice To Haves

  • Expertise in mental health crisis assessment and intervention.
  • Experience collaborating with law enforcement and community agencies.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment while maintaining a calm and professional approach.

Responsibilities

  • Lead & Supervise: Provide clinical and administrative supervision to emergency services and RBR CIT staff.
  • Program Management: Oversee planning, coordination, and monitoring of crisis services.
  • Crisis Intervention: Ensure the delivery of effective emergency psychiatric assessments and interventions.
  • Community Collaboration: Work with local agencies, law enforcement, and healthcare providers to strengthen crisis response efforts.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Maintain adherence to state regulations, HIPAA, and best practices in emergency services.
