About The Position

In the Security & Emergency Services Manager role, you will be responsible for promoting the safety, security, and well-being of residents, employees, and visitors. The SES Manager delivers exceptional customer service and hospitality, fosters a culture of belonging, and manages a team of EMS professionals who provide emergency medical services to residents, employees, and visitors. Cedar Crest is a 130-acre continuing care retirement community in Pompton Plains, New Jersey, part of Erickson Senior Living, one of the country’s largest and most respected providers of senior living and health care. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to handle both emergencies and non-emergencies with a customer first approach
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public safety leadership (Fire/EMS/Law Enforcement), Emergency Management, or comparable leadership experience
  • Current and valid driver’s license
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in an Emergency Responder role
  • Emergency Medical Responder Certification (within 6 months of hire)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification (provided if needed)
  • OSHA 10-Hour certification (within 6 months of hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Security Certification such as CPP, PSP, or CHPA (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Assume overall responsibility for the safety, security, and well-being of the community
  • Support a 24-hour, 7-days-a-week operation, ensuring continuous coverage and rapid response at all times
  • Conduct safety inspections, testing, and audits in support of Life Safety and OSHA compliance
  • Identify safety/security risks and responds accordingly
  • Conduct investigations, documents and preserves evidence as required
  • Operate company vehicles safely and in accordance with established policies and applicable laws
  • Responds to incidents and emergencies of significance and serves as the incident commander until relieved by a higher authority
  • Serve as the liaison officer to external first responders
