About The Position

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently seeking Emergency Room (ER) Physicians to support the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center located at 1 Freedom Way, Augusta, GA 30904. This is a PRN position working on an as needed basis. Requirements

  • Current, full and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (VA‑approved)
  • Active DEA registration
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI)
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must meet VA background and suitability requirements
  • No sponsorship available
  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force

Responsibilities

  • Delivering direct emergency patient care (approximately 95% of the role), including evaluation, diagnosis, stabilization, treatment, and disposition of patients
  • Managing life‑threatening and urgent conditions, trauma, medical emergencies, psychiatric emergencies, and complex medical cases
  • Performing and supervising emergency procedures, including resuscitation, airway management, intubation, central lines, chest tubes, procedural sedation, fracture reduction, and other ED procedures
  • Supervising and collaborating with Advanced Practice Providers (NPs and PAs) and reviewing inpatient admissions recommended by APPs
  • Ensuring timely patient care in accordance with VA wait‑time standards
  • Documenting all care in the VA electronic health record (EHR) and completing appropriate coding and clinical documentation
  • Participating in quality assurance, peer review, patient safety reporting, and performance improvement activities
  • Communicating test results, coordinating transfers when higher levels of care are required, and providing discharge instructions
  • Attending required ED staff meetings and quality meetings
