This position is for an Emergency Room Float Tech within Emory's internal travel nursing team, which offers a flexible program to tailor work/life balance. The role involves performing a variety of clinical tasks to facilitate patient care by directly assisting nursing and physician staff. Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited EMT or Paramedic training program.
  • 1-year minimum Previous
  • Must have current certification as an EMT-I or Paramedic.
  • AHA CPR certification.
  • AHA ACLS if Paramedic.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of clinical tasks to better facilitate patient care by directly assisting nursing and physician staff.
  • IV insertion and placement of a foley catheter.
  • Performs and documents vital signs.
  • Notifies triage nurse or physician on duty possibly critical patients.
  • Communicates as appropriate to waiting room patients.
  • Conducts needs analysis to determine need for supplies based on ED volume.
  • Monitors stock and supplies to ensure par levels are maintained.
  • Ensures that physician orders are accurately entered into the computer.
  • Answers phones and direct inquiries as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as required.
