This position is for a capable Emergency Room Float Tech who performs a variety of clinical tasks to better facilitate patient care by directly assisting nursing and physician staff.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited EMT or Paramedic training program.
• 1-year minimum experience.
• Current certification as an EMT-I or Paramedic.
• AHA CPR certification.
• AHA ACLS if Paramedic.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of clinical tasks to better facilitate patient care by directly assisting nursing and physician staff.
• Performs IV insertion and placement of a foley catheter.
• Performs and documents vital signs, notifies triage nurse or physician on duty possibly critical patients, and communicates as appropriate to waiting room patients.
• Conducts needs analysis to determine need for supplies based on ED volume.
• Monitors stock and supplies to ensure par levels are maintained.
• Ensures that physician orders are accurately entered into the computer.
• Answers phones and direct inquiries as appropriate.
• Performs other duties as required.
