About The Position

This is a 36 hour a week position with 24 hours of ER night coverage and 12 hours as ER Coordinator. The Emergency Room Coordinator is responsible for the planning, provision, and allocation of functional resources necessary to carry out the day-to-day operations of Clay County Medical Center's Emergency Room. The Emergency Room Coordinator will coordinate the personnel involved in the provision of care within the Emergency Room, collaborate with nursing and medical providers, and other leaders in the implementation of policies, procedures, standards, and regulations for the Emergency Department in order to facilitate high quality patient care. These responsibilities are accomplished by establishing appropriate performance standards and expectations. The Emergency Room Coordinator is responsible for the proper planning and allocation of resources under their control. All duties are performed consistently with Clay County Medical Center's Mission, Vision, and Values.

Requirements

  • Current Kansas Registered Nurse
  • 3 years of Emergency Room experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and very strong organizational skills required

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and develops policies, procedures, standards, and regulations for the Emergency Room Department
  • Emergency Room nurse schedule management in coordination with Medical-Surgical Coordinator
  • Review and preparation of weekly time studies for review by Director Outpatient Services.
  • Organization of unit, equipment, and supply usage
  • Education surrounding equipment and supplies use as needed
  • Completes chart audit reviews and education for improvement
  • Provides training opportunities in coordination with the Education Coordinator
  • Completes orientation of new nursing team members and existing team members as needed.
  • Completes annual competency validation
  • Facilitates Quarterly Emergency Room Committee meeting
  • Participates in risk management; reviewing incidents and providing resolution and follow up
  • Completes probationary and yearly evaluations
  • Serves as a representative/liaison to team members, patients, and medical providers
