Requirements

  • Bring a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, with 10+ years of emergency response leadership in high‑hazard industries (chemical, refining, or similar).
  • Possess 5+ years of incident command experience leading complex Fire, HAZMAT, EMS, and Rescue operations.
  • Hold preferred certifications: NFPA 1081 Advanced Exterior Firefighter, EMT or higher, HAZWOPER Technician, Rescue Technician (Level 1+), and NIMS 100/200/700/800.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills in high‑pressure, dynamic situations.
  • Have operational proficiency with emergency response equipment, digital tools, and can perform physically demanding tasks wearing full PPE and SCBA.
  • Understand relevant regulations and corporate standards related to emergency response and safety compliance.
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, incident management systems, and other emergency response–related digital tools.
  • Thrive in cross‑functional environments and communicate effectively with site operations, leadership, contractors, and external responders.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and continuously improving emergency preparedness programs, including plans for fire protection, medical response, hurricanes, freezes, and overall site readiness.
  • Planning, coordinating, and executing site‑wide emergency response drills and supporting unit‑level simulations.
  • Coordinating emergency response and EHS‑related training, including Fire, HAZMAT, Rescue, EMS, and First Aid/CPR/AED.
  • Leading or supporting audits and inspections (PSM, RMP, Responsible Care, GRC) and ensuring follow‑up on corrective actions.
  • Providing technical guidance on evacuation routes, assembly points, PPE grids, and emergency response equipment readiness.
  • Managing emergency response documentation, reporting, and data systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and corporate standards.
  • Coordinating with internal teams, external emergency responders, weather service providers, and regulatory stakeholders to enhance preparedness.
