About The Position

Works under the general direction of the Emergency Preparedness Director to provide a variety of full performance, complex secretarial, technical clerical, and general administrative duties as needed to support the Emergency Preparedness Division of the Health Department. Provides a variety of working-level professional duties related to the coordination, implementation, and delivery of volunteer management in emergency preparedness. Recruit, onboard, credential, orient, train, and retain MRC volunteers. Plan and coordinate monthly MRC trainings and engagement activities and maintain MRC records, equipment, and supply inventory and readiness. Assist in planning, coordinating, and conducting emergency preparedness exercises (tabletop, drill, functional, or full-scale). Promote volunteer recruitment and community resilience initiatives and track staff and volunteer training participation and documentation. Coordinate training opportunities with community partners including CERT, healthcare coalition partners, and emergency management agencies. Represent SWUPHD at preparedness fairs, public events, and community outreach activities and p rovide preparedness information and resources to community members.

Requirements

  • Graduation from High School or GED
  • Must possess a valid Utah Driver's License.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of professional experience in emergency preparedness, volunteer management, EMS, or a related field.
  • ICS 100 & 200, IS 700, IS 800.
