The Emergency Preparedness & Resilience (EPR) Liaison leads field-based delivery of emergency preparedness programming for refugee communities across Southeast Michigan. Newly resettled populations face unique challenges—including language barriers, unfamiliarity with U.S. emergency systems, and limited support networks—which increase vulnerability during emergencies. This role focuses on proactive outreach, culturally and linguistically appropriate education, and direct community engagement to ensure individuals and families are informed and prepared before emergencies occur. The Liaison works closely with community partners and refugee populations to build trust, deliver trainings, and strengthen community resilience through consistent in-person interaction and regional travel.
