Under supervision of the Planning Director, the Emergency Preparedness Manager is responsible for planning and managing disaster response and crisis management activities, disaster preparedness training, and in preparing emergency plans and procedures for natural (e.g., hurricanes, floods, earthquakes), wartime, or technological (e.g., nuclear power plant emergencies or hazardous materials spills) disasters or situations. Activities will include partner outreach and development, data management and analysis, research and grant writing. Incumbent should have strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively across departments and cultures. Knowledge of FEMA’s National Incident Management System (NIMS), Incident Command System (ICS), and HSEEP. Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. This position serves as a member of the Safety Committee.
