About The Position

The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator develops, implements, and maintains the hospital’s emergency management program to ensure readiness for natural disasters, public health emergencies, and other crises. This role coordinates planning, training, exercises, and response efforts across departments to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote a safe, resilient healthcare environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field
• Experience in hospital or healthcare emergency management.
• Knowledge of incident command systems (ICS/NIMS).
• Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update, and maintain the hospital’s Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and related policies.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness training, drills, and exercises for staff.
• Serve as liaison with local, state, and federal emergency management agencies.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard vulnerability analyses.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory requirements.
• Support real-time emergency response and recovery operations.
• Manage emergency supplies, communications, and incident command documentation.
