About The Position

Job Title: Emergency Medicine Physician Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Franklin, LA Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: 05/01/2026 – Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: Multiple shifts available including Day (7a–4p), Day 2 (9a–6p), Swing (3p–11p), and Night (7p–7a) COVERAGE DATES Coverage begins May 1, 2026 Ongoing coverage required Flexible scheduling based on department needs PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Adults Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 25,000 annual ED visits Admissions: Approximately 8% admissions or transfers Rounding: Not Included Phone Consults: No Case Mix: Broad emergency medicine case mix with most adult subspecialties available except Neurosurgery FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Office Equipment Available: Standard emergency department equipment Specialty Backup Available: Most adult subspecialties available except Neurosurgery Support Staff Available: Advanced Practice Provider coverage from 12p – 9p along with nursing and ED support staff Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Overtime: Daily OT after 12 hours and Weekly OT after 168 hours Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: TBD REQUIRED PROCEDURES Emergency patient evaluation and stabilization Airway management and intubation Suturing and wound management Fracture stabilization and splinting Emergency diagnostic evaluation and treatment JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Louisiana Medical License or willingness to obtain Board: ABEM, ABIM, or ABFM with Emergency Medicine experience DEA: Active DEA Certification Certifications: BLS and ACLS Experience: Emergency Medicine experience required; EM residency trained physicians considered Other Qualifications: Fellowship training preferred; board certification preferred DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department Perform patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics Perform emergency procedures as required Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nurses, and hospital staff to ensure high -quality patient care Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active Louisiana Medical License or willingness to obtain
  • ABEM, ABIM, or ABFM with Emergency Medicine experience
  • Active DEA Certification
  • BLS and ACLS
  • Emergency Medicine experience required; EM residency trained physicians considered

  • Fellowship training preferred
  • Board certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the emergency department
  • Perform patient assessments, diagnosis, and treatment planning
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostics

  • Collaborate with advanced practice providers, nurses, and hospital staff to ensure high -quality patient care
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation within the Epic EMR system
