Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent or related experience is required for new hires effective April 2014.
  • Basic EMT training or ER experience is required. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintained.
  • Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintained.
  • Certified/licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, immediate patient care by utilizing EMT training to administer basic life support, stabilize patients, and respond swiftly to medical emergencies in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Perform detailed patient assessments to evaluate vital signs, symptoms, and medical history, ensuring timely identification of urgent needs and accurate communication with the healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and allied health professionals to contribute to an integrated care approach, promoting continuity and efficiency in patient treatment plans.
  • Assist in triaging patients upon arrival by assessing the severity of their condition and supporting decisions on prioritization of care based on clinical protocols.
  • Maintain precise and thorough documentation of patient interactions, treatments, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR), supporting legal compliance and clinical continuity.
  • Inspect and manage emergency medical equipment and supplies to ensure optimal functionality, cleanliness, and availability, contributing to a safe and prepared emergency care environment.
