ED Tech - Adena Pike Emergency Department Location: Waverly, Ohio Job Type: 60% - Part time - 2-12 hour shifts Variable schedule Position Summary We are looking for a compassionate and motivated ED Tech to join our team. The Emergency Department (ED) Technician provides basic care for the Emergency Department patient, which includes infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics. This individual assists in the delivery of quality care through direct patient care, clerical duties, and supply maintenance responsibilities. The ED Technician has access to confidential information, carries out activities under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, and functions under the indirect supervision of the Clinical Manager/Supervisor. What You'll Do Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with professional and ethical standards. Timely and accurate completion of all delegated patient care procedures and treatments. Timely and safe transport of patients to and from department via ambulation, wheelchair, and stretchers. Accurate and legible documentation of patient care activities on ED record. Professionally communicates pertinent and timely information to care team members in both a written and verbal manner. Conscientiously prioritizes assigned requests, initiates and maintains patient records per unit specific guidelines which are accurate and error free. Assists with coordinating ordering and stocking of linen and supplies for the area. Provides clerical support to the care team that is accurate and error free to the patient care area, greeting and directing visitors and guest in a compassionate and respectful manner. Answers phones in a timely and friendly manner. Directs all calls appropriately. Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the department and health system. Qualifications Required Educational Degree : High School Diploma or GED REQUIRED - Successful completion EMT Basic Course work within 1 year of hire Or Student Nurse currently enrolled in accredited program Required Certifications, Credentials and Licenses: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within90-days of hire; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention within 90 days of hire and annually; ESI Course required within 90 days of hire; Basic Telemetry required within 90 days of hire. Preferred: EMT Intermediate or Paramedic. Phlebotomy experience; experience delivering patient care in the Emergency Department. Why Join Us?
