About The Position

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Work Shift: Evenings/Nights (United States of America) Primary Function/General Purpose of Position Assist the staff by performing clerical and patient care duties under the direction of an RN. Maintain and update patient records in a timely, orderly manner. Acknowledge and greet customers upon arrival to unit and demonstrate enthusiastic friendly approach. Essential Job Functions Performs delegated direct patient care activities under the direction of a registered nurse. Reports conditions of patients including changes or abnormal findings to Primary Nurse, Charge Nurse, or Provider Provides nursing care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patient diversity and acknowledges patient rights and identifies resources to meet patient needs. Acts as a patient advocate. Correctly and efficiently completes, documents, and communicates physician orders and care provided. Correctly utilizes computer systems and serves as a unit resource. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, core measures, infection prevention, and patient quality initiatives to achieve optimal clinical and organizational outcomes. Maintains a well-organized, appropriately stocked and clean work environment and provides an environment that is conducive to workflow. Performs other job duties and responsibilities as required. Requirements

  • Must have a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider Card.
  • Graduate of an accredited high school or GED equivalency examination.
  • Must have completed Fundamentals of Nursing course or a Nursing Assistant Program or have experience as an ED Technician or Patient Care Technician in an acute care or nursing home setting.
  • Knowledge of clerical procedures and medical terminology.
  • Skill in English grammar and spelling.
  • Neat, legible handwriting.
  • Ability to file and maintain patient records, files and reports.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to use office equipment, such as multi-line telephones, computer terminals and printers.
  • Knowledge of patient care tasks and techniques to provide nursing care.
  • Ability to report changes in the patient’s condition to the professional nurse.
  • Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to administer patient care.
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment.
  • Skill in maintaining patient care record.
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
