About The Position

Emergency Department Registered Nurse 7a-7p Fountain Hills Medical Center is a brand new Micro Hospital set to open early 2021 in beautiful Fountain Hills, Arizona. Encompassing 8 ER beds and 5 in patient beds, FHMC will also have full imaging and lab functionality. Summary: Provides general ER nursing care to patients in emergency room facility by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following . Other duties may be assigned. Explains procedures and treatments to patient to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension. Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques. Prepares equipment and aids Physician during treatment and examination of patient. Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of patient. Observes patient, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or Physician of patient's condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents. Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of patient. Responds to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol. Documents nursing history and physical assessment for assigned patients. Initiates a patient education plan according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or hospital policy including patient and family instruction. Rotates among various clinical services of institution such as obstetrics, surgery, orthopedics, outpatient and admitting, pediatrics, and psychiatry. Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for surgery. Assists in procedures by handing items to Surgeon, Obstetrician, or other medical practitioner. Makes beds, bathes and feeds patients. Participates in department or unit quality improvement activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; two years related ER experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to triage utilizing the Emergency Severity Index.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common medical regulations, reports, journals and documents.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the community.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Basic Computer Knowledge, EMR
  • Active AZ or Compact State RN Licence, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC
