APPLICANTS MUST BE PERMANENT IN THE ELIGIBILITY SPECIALIST CIVIL SERVICE TITLE. DSS-AO is responsible for protecting the integrity of social services programs administered by the NY City DSS and ensuring that DSS complies with all statutory, regulatory and contractual standards. The Income Clearance Program (ICP) is responsible for the processing of various computer matches which indicates income or resources received by Cash Assistance (CA), Non-Cash Assistance and mixed household participants. The computer matches are designed to reduce fraud, ineligibility/error levels for both Cash Assistance and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). ICP interacts with other programs, City and State agencies including, Management Information Systems (MIS), Medical Insurance and Community Services Administration (MICSA), the Administration for Children Services (ACS), the NYS Department of Health (NYSDOH) and others to coordinate and reconcile these possible discrepancies. Income Clearance Program is recruiting for (19) Eligibility Specialist II's to function as an Eligibility Specialists, who will: - Review matches and referral information concerning participant’s cases by accessing and verifying the accuracy of the information submitted, via the Welfare Management System (WMS). - Prepare eligibility forms, review matches and referral data, verify for accuracy, review current/past authorizations to initiate processing of appropriate case actions. - Compute/determine the amount of Cash Assistance, SNAP, and Medical Assistance by reviewing, obtaining, and verifying match material, ensuring correct budgeting for requested assistance. - Initiate recoupment upon determination of an overpayment in SNAP and Cash Assistance Benefits. - Complete daily work activities report and submit to supervisor, attend/participate in training activities, staff/group and agency meetings as necessary. - Perform other tasks as assigned by the Unit Supervisor Work Location: 375 Pearl Street Hours/Schedule: 9-5 M-F
