Role Overview: MPI is seeking a Representative to support our Participant Services Center Operations department in Studio City, CA. This onsite position is responsible for accurately processing health insurance enrollment for Participants and their dependents, coordination of benefits, benefit extensions, demographic updates, COBRA notices and various related life event activities. The Representative regularly interacts with Participants through written correspondence, emails and phone calls. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Some college preferred.
  • Strong administrative, clerical and organizational experience and skills.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with eligibility, health plan enrollment processing and customer service preferred.
  • Health insurance experience preferred.
  • Experience using the V3 eligibility system is a plus.
  • Intermediate PC skills; including Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel), and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Accurate typing skills of 45 wpm; 10-key skills by touch.
  • Clear and effective oral and written communication skills; ability to explain and confirm understanding of complex issues.
  • Excellent customer service skills including verbal and written communication.
  • Able to multi-task, handle fast-paced work and meet deadlines.
  • Capable of managing a high-volume of work while maintaining high standards. Strict attention to detail and a high level of accuracy are required,
  • Motivated self-starter and well organized in time management, excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Able to learn quickly and follow through to completion.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to interact effectively and cooperatively with co-workers and outside contacts.
  • Excellent attendance and reliability, with the ability to work overtime hours as needed.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college preferred.
  • Health insurance experience preferred.
  • Experience using the V3 eligibility system is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process participant and dependent records, enrollment, addresses, beneficiary designations, plan selections, Coordination of Benefits information, student documentation, premiums, COBRA, life insurance, etc.
  • Communicate eligibility policies and extensions to Participants and dependents
  • Communicate premium policies and payment procedures
  • Communicate COBRA policies and procedures
  • Handle phone calls regarding eligibility, enrollment, premiums and COBRA payments, including proactive outreach to Participants
  • Respond to emails and phone calls from Participants, dependents, business partners, Local/Union Representatives and employers.
  • Create Participant letters using Microsoft Word
  • Complete tickets created by PSC Call Center Representatives
