About The Position

Elevation Program Associate- This position will be deeply engaged in the implementation of the Elevation Grant Program, a citywide initiative focused on reducing violence and recidivism. What We’re Looking For : The Elevation Program Associate plays a vital role in supporting place-based efforts to create safe, connected, and resilient neighborhoods throughout Indianapolis. This position will be deeply engaged in the implementation of the Elevation Grant Program, a citywide initiative focused on reducing violence and recidivism. The ideal candidate is highly organized, an excellent communicator, and thrives in collaborative, grassroots, and community-driven environments. This position is grant-funded through June 30, 2028.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in nonprofit, community-based, or grant-funded programming.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Public Policy, Social Work, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Experience working with individuals and communities of diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital collaboration tools.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and ability to travel locally for meetings and site visits.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed for community events.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience reviewing or managing grants and related reports.
  • Familiarity with government funding processes and compliance requirements.
  • Experience coordinating public-facing events, workshops, or peer-learning sessions.
  • Knowledge of Indianapolis neighborhoods and community-based organizations

Responsibilities

  • Grantee Support & Relationship Management Serve as a key point of contact for grantees, building strong and trusting relationships through regular verbal and written communication.
  • Conduct and coordinate site visits and check-ins to monitor grantee progress, capture impact stories, and provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Review and assess grant reports and documents, working to ensure alignment with program goals and compliance requirements.
  • Provide timely follow-up and support to grantees regarding reporting, documentation, and deliverables.
  • Program Coordination & Administration Assist with the coordination and logistics of events, including workshops, convenings, information sessions, and site visits.
  • Schedule and document internal and external meetings; prepare agendas, take notes, and track action items.
  • Monitor and update internal tracking systems (e.g., spreadsheets, grant management platforms, dashboards, etc.) to maintain accurate records of grantee status and program metrics.
  • Help implement corrective actions and process amendments when program milestones are not met.
  • Communications & Reporting Support the preparation of reports, presentations, and content for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with drafting clear and concise communications, including grantee updates, newsletters, and source content for website and other external collateral.
  • Oversee shared inboxes and ensure timely and professional responses to inquiries.
  • Continuous Improvement Contribute to program improvements, documentation of best practices, and the rollout of new systems or processes.
  • Participate in internal and cross-sectoral meetings to support knowledge sharing and community engagement.
