About The Position

Position Criteria: Valid Iowa Teaching certificate K-6 Elementary endorsement Experience with computers and educational technology Performance Criteria: Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students Prepare for classes assigned and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of principal Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, established clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to students Strive to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives Assess the progress of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Attend staff meetings and serves on staff committees as required Strive to maintain and improve professional competence Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner Make provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms Provide technical curriculum assistance regarding hardware usage, software applications, computer technology, and the general instructional use of technology in the classroom Assist in the integration of technology application in the K-5 curriculum Serve as a liaison for technology to the Curriculum Director, Principal, etc. Serve as a first line troubleshooter for building technology problems and questions Work cooperatively with the district Technology Director to maintain and service computers and networks Develop and maintains building web site in cooperation with building staff Perform such other tasks as may from time to time be assigned by the Board

Requirements

  • Valid Iowa Teaching certificate
  • K-6 Elementary endorsement
  • Experience with computers and educational technology

Responsibilities

  • Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes
  • Provide technical curriculum assistance
  • Assist in the integration of technology in the K-5 curriculum
  • Serve as a liaison for technology
  • Troubleshoot building technology problems
  • Work with the Technology Director to maintain computers and networks
  • Develop and maintain the building website
