About The Position

Position Criteria: Valid State of Iowa teaching license Talented and Gifted endorsement Previous experience teaching Pre-Algebra highly preferred Demonstrated knowledge of MTSS as it relates to gifted and high-level learners, preferred Performance Responsibilities: Knowledge of the ELP learner based on current research. Successful experience working with advanced and ELP learners. Demonstrate knowledge of differentiating instruction and the use of data to guide instruction Use of pedagogically appropriate/best practice instructional methods and a rigorous curriculum designed to prepare all students to achieve higher standards and become lifelong learners. Ongoing collaboration with building leadership; commitment to the key processes in a professional learning community; ongoing support for data analysis. Ability to plan a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. Ability to involve parents and communities in supporting student learning and healthy development. Knowledge of and ability to teach pre-algebra. Ability to provide job-embedded and differentiated professional development. Demonstrates an understanding of the elements of a Professional Learning Community (PLC) and an ability to apply that understanding in order to successfully collaborate with colleagues. Demonstrates an understanding of and an ability to implement the Problem Solving Process and use data to support enrichment for students in instructional settings. Knowledge of an experience with using current technology to support and enhance student learning. A solid understanding of and experience in using multiple teaching methods: collaborating, co-teaching, whole group/small group/individualized instruction. Flexible, highly motivated, positive, and enthusiastic about working with children. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to continual improvement as a means for enhancing student achievement. Understanding of and evidence for the implementation of developmentally appropriate practices for both primary and intermediate aged students. Actively supports and effectively communicates the Waukee Community School District mission, vision, and values. Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development

Requirements
