About The Position
The primary objective of this position is to plan and deliver a program of instruction that meets students’ needs, is consistent with good practice, and fulfills the expectations criteria for teachers as identified in the Webster Groves School District teacher evaluation tool. This role requires projecting positivity, optimism, and joy, and being passionate about growing students both academically and personally. The teacher will utilize many different teaching practices and instructional strategies, implement standards in a variety of ways, and support student growth by valuing student voice, interest, and choice. Key responsibilities include maximizing learning experiences for diverse students, assessing and interpreting results to provide individualized instruction and enrichment, and being an integral part of a collaborative learning team that uses data for student growth. The position also involves sharing ideas with students, families, and colleagues, developing cooperative partnerships with parents and students, participating in district and building-level committees, and following Board of Education policies. A strong commitment to ensuring equity for all students, a true love for and belief in all students, respect for student voice and choice, strong knowledge of varied teaching practices, effective interpersonal and communication skills, and flexibility in meeting the needs of diverse learners are essential.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- Major or Minor in content area required
- Requires Missouri teacher certification with required endorsements for the subject and level assigned
