About The Position

Alden Elementary School is seeking a highly qualified, certified Special Education Teacher for a Grade 3-5 Transitions Program. Requirements

  • Current certification from Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education with SEI Endorsement: Teachers of Students with Moderate Disabilities (All)
  • Experience with IEP development and data collection
  • Management skills that support students social emotional learning
  • Familiarity with MA Curriculum Frameworks Access and Entry Points
  • Familiarity with Augmentative and Alternative Communication Devices
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

  • Classroom management skills that support students' access to the general education curriculum content by providing specially designed instruction
  • Provide direct instruction in the co-teach environment with modifications
  • Provide direct instruction in the core content areas
  • Complete MCAS Alternative Assessment Portfolios as necessary
  • Develop and implement student success plans as necessary
  • Support skill development for Activities of Daily Living as necessary
