About The Position
Elementary PrincipalAvailable July 1, 2024The Syosset Central School District is seeking outstanding candidates for the position of Elementary School Principal. The Elementary Principal is responsible for all facets of the K-5 elementary school building. The school principals report directly to the Deputy Superintendent and Superintendent of Schools. The principalship is a 12-month position with a four-year probationary period. The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:A minimum of eight (8) years of successful teaching experience at the K-5 Elementary levelPrevious, successful, Elementary-level (K-5) administrative experienceHold valid NYSED School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) certificationStudent-centered with proven ability to enable students to realize their full intellectual potential and to inspire lifelong learnersExemplary communicator with all school-community stakeholdersExperience implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Support/Response to Intervention Model Exemplary understanding of elementary curriculum, literacy and reading instruction, and the NYS Next Generation Learning StandardsA vision and proven record of continuous growth, learning, development and innovation in a high-performing environment.Excellent listening, oral, and written communication skillsAbility to collaborate with a highly respected faculty and staff Salary as per the Syosset Principals' Association ContractPlease submit an application, resume, and cover letter on OLAS by May 5, 2024 to the attention of:Adam KuranishiAssistant Superintendent for Human ResourcesSyosset Central School DistrictP.O. Requirements
- A minimum of eight (8) years of successful teaching experience at the K-5 Elementary level
- Previous, successful, Elementary-level (K-5) administrative experience
- Hold valid NYSED School Building Leader (SBL) or School Administrator/Supervisor (SAS) certification
- Student-centered with proven ability to enable students to realize their full intellectual potential and to inspire lifelong learners
- Exemplary communicator with all school-community stakeholders
- Experience implementing a Multi-Tiered System of Support/Response to Intervention Model
- Exemplary understanding of elementary curriculum, literacy and reading instruction, and the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards
- A vision and proven record of continuous growth, learning, development and innovation in a high-performing environment.
