About The Position

The Playground attendant is responsible for supervising recess of the Elementary school children in the playground area. Encourage a positive atmosphere for student playground activities. Focus on students’ safety and supervision while interacting with children. Enforce school guidelines and playground policies. Maintain and store playground equipment.

Requirements

  • Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.
  • EDUCATION High School diploma or equivalent
  • LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION CPR/FIRST AID/AED Training or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Able to adapt to weather extremes and dress appropriately for those conditions.
  • Able to multi-task and quickly shift priorities in emergency situations.
  • Able to work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, students and parents.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with children.

Responsibilities

  • Enforce school guidelines, playground policies and monitor all games and activities for fair play; be alert to potential hazards which could harm the children regarding faulty playground equipment; strangers on campus; hazardous play by the children; extraneous objects on the playground which could cause injury.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the children.
  • Review and reteach game and activity rules with students as outlined by the physical education teacher.
  • Meet with the physical education teacher for instruction on prescribed games and activities.
  • Prepare, maintain and store playground equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, students and parents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Principal and Assistant Principal.
  • Conduct that reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).
