About The Position
St. Lawrence Elementary School is a Roman Catholic elementary school, grades K-6, serving the Diocese of Lafayette in Indiana. Job Summary: The Lafayette Catholic School System is seeking dynamic, faith-filled servant leaders who love children and enjoy teaching. Primary Purpose: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, a successful candidate will have the ability to develop students' skills and competence in elementary school music education. Requirements
- Indiana teaching license to teach the subject or grade for which he/she is applying.
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- Possess Respect & ability to uphold Catholic School Teachings
- Able to pass and maintain Diocesan child safety protocols
- Understands appropriate use of Learning Management Systems.
- Strong written and oral communication abilities.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to build parent and student relationships.
- Ability to collaborate inside and outside of the department.
- Self-motivated learner.
- Possesses a professionally calm and motivationally intense demeanor.
- Believes in planning and preparation, while also being a progressive thinker.
- Cares about his/her character, co-workers, and students.

- Able to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool if necessary
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, evenings, and weekends as required.
- This job operates in an office/school environment. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.
Nice To Haves
- Previous elementary school teaching experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Develops and administers music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
- Develops balanced music program and lessons to organize class time so that students have adequate time for preparation, instruction, and creating music.
