Requirements

Must hold MA DESE licensure in music 1-5
Experience teaching music classes at the 1-5 level
Ability to direct large choral ensembles
Knowledge and implementation of audiation-based music teaching

Responsibilities

Teach general music classes grades 1-5 and direct 4th and 5th grade all-inclusive choruses.
Attend concerts and performances as needed throughout the year.
Register and prepare students/ensembles for auditions and festivals as needed.
Work with Performing Arts colleagues to align curriculum and lessons to established school and district objectives.
Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
Effectively implement district initiatives.
Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.
Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
