About The Position

Sterling Montessori Academy & Charter School is a vibrant, inclusive learning community serving students from preschool through 8th grade, grounded in the Montessori philosophy. This Part-Time After Care Assistant role involves working with Elementary students (grades 1-8) from 3:00–6:00 PM each day. It is an opportunity for individuals who enjoy working with children, helping them learn through play, movement, and meaningful connection, and who are patient, positive, and eager to support a nurturing environment. This position is ideal for someone interested in education or Montessori environments, seeking consistent part-time work during the school year.

Requirements

• Experience working with children
• A calm, nurturing demeanor and a passion for education
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of background check

Responsibilities

• Supervise children in our Montessori after-care program with care, attention, and consistency
• Lead engaging, developmentally appropriate activities to promote social and emotional development
• Ensure a safe, calm, and respectful environment aligned with Montessori values
• Support student transitions and self-care routines
• Communicate positively with children, staff, and families as needed
• Assist with clean-up and end-of-day preparation for the next day
