About The Position

Step into the rhythm of cutting-edge cardiac care as a Cardiac Cath Lab EP Technician, where every day brings the opportunity to make a life-saving impact. In this dynamic role, you’ll partner closely with electrophysiologists and cardiologists to support advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures, including invasive electrophysiology studies, ablations, and device implants. From prepping patients and high-tech equipment to assisting during complex procedures, you’ll be a vital part of a team dedicated to precision, safety, and exceptional patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Training in electrophysiology lab work with demonstrated and relevant EP lab experience
  • Strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and electrophysiology
  • Proficiency with 3D mapping systems and ablation generator technology
  • Ability to wear lead aprons weighing 5 to 7 pounds for extended periods and the ability to walk, stand, and stoop as needed
  • Ability to recognize life threatening arrhythmias in all monitoring situations

Responsibilities

  • Jump into action by scrubbing in and assisting physicians with catheter insertions, cardiac ablations, device implants including pacemakers, ICDs, loop recorders, and cardioversions
  • Keep a close eye on patient vitals, ECGs, hemodynamic status, and intracardiac pressures while documenting everything accurately in the electronic medical record
  • Operate and monitor advanced EP recording systems, 3D mapping technology, and fluoroscopy equipment
  • Prepare patients with confidence by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort and safety during both invasive and minimally invasive procedures
  • Set the stage for success by preparing procedure rooms, maintaining sterile fields, and managing catheters, sheaths, and mapping systems
  • Champion radiation safety protocols to protect patients and team members
  • Calibrate and maintain essential EP lab equipment, including stimulators, ablation generators, and recording systems
  • Troubleshoot technical issues on the fly and collaborate with the biomedical team when needed
  • Stay organized by managing EP supply inventory and documenting equipment usage
  • Keep operations running smoothly by maintaining logs, schedules, records, and quality assurance processes, including completing and submitting daily charges
  • Support a culture of quality improvement, safety, and inclusion through your daily work and team collaboration
  • Deliver patient-centered care that meets physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all age groups
  • Stay up to date with all regulatory standards, compliance requirements, and organizational policies, and actively participate in compliance activities
