About The Position

Be the technical authority on the floor — mentoring technicians, validating diagnostics, and signing off on complex repairs that put aircraft back in operation. Performs tests to assess conformance with engineering specifications. Sets up testing apparatus and conducts quality assurance/control tests of raw materials, parts, components, finished items, packaging, equipment and systems. Performs final tests on sub-assemblies or completed units as necessary to ensure proper functioning of electrical, mechanical, and chemical performance. Scope of work may include but is not limited to strength testing, thermal testing, pyrometry and metallurgic testing. Requirements

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US) or vocational/ technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Electrical Technician Certification
  • Experience using scheduling, prioritization, and cell management tools (charts, boards, software, etc.)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and data entry
  • Experience with MRP systems such as SAP and other software platforms
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics
  • Experience with component-level troubleshooting (resistors, capacitors, diodes, etc.)
  • Demonstrated analytical and structured problem-solving skills to lead complex troubleshooting, determine root cause/corrective action, and drive timely resolution of electronics test failures in an aerospace MRO environment

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Electronics
  • Prior experience with working in multiple cells and knowledge of multiple products
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience working in a MRO environment

Responsibilities

  • Effectively communicate work status to team members and support staff (e.g. Tier meetings, shift pass down, engineering, maintenance)
  • Schedule and assign work to manage daily output goals
  • Ensure workflow and resolve or escalate any stoppage to workflow
  • Interface with various departments to meet customer requirements
  • Configuring and operating various test stands to interpret and record test results
  • Testing a variety of electronic units using prescribed test procedures
  • Recognizing and isolating test equipment failures
  • Reading and interpreting technical data such as component maintenance manuals, engineering prints, and schematics
  • Understand theory of electronic circuitry and electrical components
  • Using diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electronic units to the sub-assembly and component level
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise technical manner
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of office software applications
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
