The Electronics Test & Repair Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Test & Repair department while actively engaging in hands-on electronic testing, troubleshooting, and repair, with a particular focus on analog and RF systems. This role ensures that products adhere to all engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. The Lead will also supervise and mentor technicians, drive productivity and process improvements, and collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve technical issues and ensure on-time delivery.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or completion of vocational training in Electronics.
  • Advanced understanding of electronic testing and repair, concentrating on analog.
  • 2–3 years of experience in RF and/or transceivers.
  • 1+ years of prior experience leading or supervising a team in a test, repair, or manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standards and experience with nonconformance reporting
  • Experience documenting test data, work orders, and using ERP/MRP or quality systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Good mathematical skills.
  • Manual dexterity to work with small hand tools such as pliers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, and soldering equipment.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new procedures and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Electronic Technician
  • FAA Repairman Certification
  • Prior aerospace manufacturing experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Test & Repair department of 4-5 test technicians and operators overseeing daily operations and technician performance.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic assemblies and systems; ensure compliance with blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
  • Set up, calibrate, and operate test equipment; perform circuit analysis and recommend design changes to Engineering.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Planning, Quality, and other departments to resolve issues and meet production goals.
  • Record and maintain accurate test data, work orders, and documentation.
  • Assign tasks, prepare workstations, and ensure materials and tools are available.
  • Train, mentor, and motivate employees; monitor progress and support development.
  • Identify nonconforming parts and uphold all quality, productivity, and safety standards.
  • Assist management with policy interpretation, performance reviews, and employee discipline.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Support cross-training initiatives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management
  • Comply with all DG safety procedures and policies as directed by the Facility Engineer/Safety Director
