About The Position

This position will be part of the Bond team and will provide support for bond-funded projects. This position is funded for 4 to 5 years. The Low Voltage Systems Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of of district-wide low voltage communication and audio systems. This role supports technology infrastructure across multiple campuses, focusing on clock/timekeeping systems, intercom systems, scoreboards, paging systems, and sound/PA systems. ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS & REQUIREMENTS - Temperature & Weather: Able to work in extreme heat, cold, and varying outdoor weather conditions - Hazards: Comfortable working around moving mechanical parts, heavy vibrations, elevated heights, and potential exposure to contaminants, odors, or wet environments - Workplace Conditions: Adaptable to environments with varying levels of noise, lighting conditions, and overall cleanliness - Location & Schedule: Willing to work at different indoor and outdoor job sites on a variable schedule, which may include overtime or irregular hours as necessary ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS & REQUIREMENTS - Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wears safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, fall protection gear, and other required PPE - Required to move around work place, manipulating and handling, reaching for and detecting objects and equipment while simultaneously balancing, positioning and lifting - Capable of maintaining an appropriate work pace - Frequent lifting of up to fifty (50) pounds; Occasional lifting of over fifty (50) pounds - Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders - Frequent sitting, standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing

Requirements

Valid Colorado Driver's License - Colorado Dept of Transportation
High School or Equivalent (Required)
Ability to independently perform responsibilities without the necessity of close supervision
Ability to properly maintain district-provided tools, vehicles and equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical product manuals
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to support positive outcomes
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
Demonstrates familiarity and compliance with occupational safety precautions
Maintains a generally positive and professional attitude
Strong organizational and time management skills
Strong verbal and written English communication skills and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written, graphic and oral instructions
Willingness and commitment to observe and model all District policies and procedures
Working knowledge of electrical codes
Working knowledge of industrial electrical equipment
Working knowledge of low- and high-voltage circuitry

Responsibilities

Coordinate with school administrators, maintenance teams, and IT departments to ensure minimal disruption to school operations.
Testing & Measurement Devices: Employs multimeters, tone generators, cable certifiers, and network analyzers.
Aerial Lifts: Operates aerial lifts or bucket lifts to perform work safely at elevated heights.
Maintain and repair school scoreboards, controllers, and related athletic facility equipment.
Set up and maintain sound/PA systems for classrooms, gyms, auditoriums, stadiums, and special events.
Read and interpret schematic diagrams, wiring layouts, and technical manuals relevant to school facilities
District Vehicle: Operates a district vehicle to travel between job sites and transport equipment.
District-Provided Tools: Utilizes tools and testing equipment supplied by the district for installation, troubleshooting, and repair of low-voltage systems.
Hand & Power Tools: Uses drills, saws, crimpers, cable testers, and other electrical/technical tools.
Computers & Mobile Devices: Uses laptops, tablets, or mobile devices for documentation, system programming, and communications.
Service, troubleshoot and program school intercom and communication systems, including call buttons, classroom speakers, and administrative consoles.
Install, upgrade and support paging and mass notification systems, ensuring clear communication across campuses.
Document all repairs, installations, inventory usage, and system configurations.
Comply with all district policies, safety procedures, industry standards and applicable local, state and federal codes.
Performs additional work-related duties as required.
Install, configure and maintain district-wide master clock systems, synchronized clocks, and timekeeping hardware
Perform cabling work including pulling, terminating, labeling, and testing low-voltage wiring.
Conduct preventive maintenance and respond to service requests from school sites in a timely manner.
