Education High school graduate with two years of technical school majoring in telecommunication, digital electronics, computer technology or equivalent is required. Successful applicant will be required to enroll in Northwest Lineman College Power Delivery Program and complete program within two years. Experience Two years' experience in electronic equipment operations and maintenance preferred. Outside plant fiber optic experience is desirable. Successful applicant must pass applicable test. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must have a working knowledge of electronics and computer systems. Knowledge of SCADA and specialized communication systems desirable. The ability to install, test, maintain, and repair electronic equipment is required. Must be able to provide technical service and repairs to electronic equipment. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and Cooperative members. Must be proficient with the use of computers and capable of learning industry specific software programs. Must have a valid driver's license. Working Conditions Some work inside with normal office conditions. Works outside in all types of weather. Occasionally required to respond to major outages. Travel within system required. Physical Requirements Required to pass a physical examination when employed. Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Must pass mandatory periodic drug testing. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, reach with hands/arms. Employee must use hands for grasping, fine manipulation, repetitive movements, handling objects, tools, or controls. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Visual and audio acuity is essential to this position.
