About The Position

The Electronics Technician I (HVAC Controls Tech) is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining HVAC control systems and associated electronic components within a Department of Defense (DoD) healthcare facility. This role supports the reliable performance of building automation and electronic systems critical to healthcare operations, while ensuring compliance with applicable DoD, safety, and healthcare facility standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance
  • Ability to meet and maintain local background check requirements
  • Ability to follow written and verbal technical instructions
  • Reliable attendance and dependability

Nice To Haves

  • HVAC Technician Certification (Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Section 608 Universal Certification preferred)
  • Building Automation Systems (BAS) certification (e.g., Siemens, Johnson Controls, Trane)
  • Low-voltage electrical training or certification in accordance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards
  • National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E electrical safety training
  • Familiarity with BACnet and Modbus protocols for HVAC control systems
  • Knowledge of energy management and environmental compliance standards

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure HVAC control systems and related electronic components
  • Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on electronic control systems
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure system reliability and performance
  • Collaborate with technicians, subcontractors, and facility personnel to resolve complex technical issues
  • Ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and healthcare facility standards
  • Accurately document maintenance, repair activities, inspections, and system updates
  • Support the safe and continuous operation of electronic systems in critical healthcare environments
  • Perform other duties as assigned
