About The Position

The Repair Technician II (Fully Proficient) is responsible for independently diagnosing, analyzing, and repairing components and finished products manufactured by Trust Automation in support of both internal manufacturing non-conformances and customer RMAs. This role ensures products are restored to current, compliant configurations that meet original functional, performance, and quality requirements. The Repair Technician II applies technical expertise and independent judgment to identify failure modes, determine root cause, and define appropriate repair or upgrade pathways. This includes evaluating cost, turnaround time, and risk while executing repairs that reduce scrap, minimize rework, and protect delivery commitments and customer satisfaction. Working under general direction of the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Repair Technician II performs repairs using established tools, test equipment, and documented processes, while maintaining accurate records of findings, corrective actions, and final disposition. The role requires effective written and verbal communication with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Customer Support and contributes to continuous improvement through feedback on recurring failure trends and process gaps.

Requirements

  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person, on the telephone or virtually.
  • Dexterity of hands, fingers, and wrist to operate a computer keyboard, calculator, or assemble/manufacture intricate items.
  • Seeing to read a variety of materials.
  • Sitting or standing for extended period of time.
  • Physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds to shoulder height. Any items that weigh more than 50 pounds will require two or more people or a lifting device to move.
  • Physical agility to lift, carry, push, or pull objects.

Responsibilities

  • Independently diagnose, analyze, and repair components and finished products across Trust Automation product lines.
  • Determine root cause of failures and define appropriate repair or upgrade pathways within established guidelines.
  • Execute complex soldering, rework, and mechanical repairs with minimal rework or escalation.
  • Recreate reported failures when appropriate to validate failure modes.
  • Validate repairs through functional and performance testing using production test systems.
  • Communicate technical findings, risks, and status to the Manufacturing Supervisor and cross-functional teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and informal support to Level I technicians.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts through feedback on failure trends and repair effectiveness.
