About The Position

As an Instrumentation Technician, you will perform highly skilled work in the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of electronic, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, and instrumentation systems throughout the facility. You will ensure the reliability of critical control systems, troubleshoot plant equipment, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This role plays a critical part in maintaining safety, uptime, and technical accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to work safely around electrical systems, high-voltage components, and complex equipment.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills across multiple disciplines.
  • Ability to interpret and apply electrical codes and technical standards.
  • Must be detail-oriented and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently and maintain high-quality work practices.
  • High school diploma or equivelant required.
  • Working knowledge of National Electric Codes and Regulations.
  • Proficiency with electronic testing instruments.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret electrical circuit drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints and diagrams.
  • Skilled in using measurement instruments such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to work accurately with detailed technical information.
  • Effective communication skills to support cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions in written, oral, and diagram form.

Nice To Haves

  • Two-year associate degree in a related technical field or equivalent work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, repair, adjust, troubleshoot, install, and fabricate electronic and electromechanical equipment using specialized tools and instruments.
  • Program PLCs and PCs, specifically Allen Bradley equipment.
  • Design and construct controllers and circuit boards as needed.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to Maintenance Technicians.
  • Clean repair areas properly to prevent product contamination.
  • Accurately complete required reports, documentation, and record-keeping.
  • Participate in and apply quality process techniques.
  • Perform work safely, efficiently, and in compliance with plant expectations.
  • Install power distribution lines and related equipment.
  • Perform complex electrical repairs on industrial equipment.
  • Conduct mechanical tasks such as removing large electrical devices with material-handling equipment, repairing them, and reinstalling them.
  • Follow NEC code practices and OSHA regulations.
  • Apply working knowledge of NEC code, NFPA 70E, and related safety standards.
  • Provide feedback to help improve equipment design and modify existing systems.
  • Troubleshoot plant control systems and make necessary repairs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.
