About The Position

The Electronic Controls Engineer will be part of a team responsible for defining our next generation vehicle control architecture for both electric and gas vehicles. This will include defining both hardware and software solutions which will support a platform approach and ensure future of expansion of the architecture is enabled. Specifically, we are seeking a high-energy Electrical Engineer with an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for success. This individual will be a key contributor in growing our business by balancing risk and reward using advanced engineering and project management tools. This position offers the opportunity to follow your work from concept to production and will require you to apply both analytical and hands-on skills. You will also see the direct results of your work leaving the Plant on a daily basis! This individual will work closely with and collaborate with the development centers located in Sarasota, FL and Bangalore, India to develop and release to market high quality next generation Club Car connected Electric Vehicle solutions for Golf, Consumer, and Utility customers.

Requirements

  • Experience with electrical vehicle controls and safety features
  • Experience in controls of embedded systems.
  • CAN/LIN Experience
  • Experience with APQP methods and tools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent technical, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Must be tenacious with quality and customer service orientation
  • Knowledge of the appropriate product safety and design standards
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related field, Master’s degree a plus
  • 5+ years’ work experience in design of control systems or systems engineering, preferably automotive
  • Design of controls for embedded systems

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in vehicle telemetry, diagnostics, and data analytics a plus
  • Experience in model based software development is a plus, but not required
  • Experience in system modeling using Matlab, Simulink, and Stateflow is a plus, but not required
  • Basic experience with 3D-CAD applications such as ProE is a plus (but is not required)

Responsibilities

  • Work within a team structure to define engine and vehicle control architecture and associated telemetry.
  • Assist in the implementation of model based development for both hardware and software.
  • Identify and validate selection of vehicle control module options, sensors, and power management systems.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to designers, lab technicians and other team members.
  • Administer appropriate agency and regulatory approval processes.
  • Develop and/or update electrical purchased part specifications and engineering drawings.
  • Identify and assess key supplier capabilities using APQP processes and tools.
  • Define, identify and complete appropriate qualification testing activities.
  • Prepare complete schedules and reports for assigned projects.
  • Achieve scheduled milestones for assigned projects.
  • Coordinate the activities of other engineers or technicians assigned to the project.
  • Provide engineering support to product planning and/or technical support teams.
