About The Position

Provide technical support and guidance in the designing, planning, operation, and maintenance of electric or electronic components, equipment, systems, and machinery used in generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electrical energy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in electronics engineering, engineering, or related field; and 3 plus years' experience with hardware and software design of electronic controlled power equipment, preferably brushless dc motor controllers or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience as determined by the hiring manager and Human Resources.
  • Must have a working knowledge of C/C++ language
  • Basic skill in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS Visio
  • Advanced skills in Altium
  • Proficient use of digital multi-meters, spectrum analyzers, function generators, and oscilloscopes
  • Excellent critical thinking and complex problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to determine how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.

Nice To Haves

  • Lab View experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge of basic programming C/C++ or high-level languages (Python, Go) is a plus, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Design, layout and prototype analog and digital circuit boards that meet UL, CSA, CE, WEEE/RoHS that are optimized for Harmonics Conduct and Radiate Emission testing utilizing Altium Design Software.
  • Source the necessary components for prototyping and vault the necessary project files and databases to PCB manufacturers and to the mechanical designers & engineers to properly document the project.
  • Ability to perform EMI testing in-house, or at a 3rd party lab, for Bluetooth electronics or motor controllers that incorporate Power Factor Correction
  • Work with PCBA suppliers to complete DFMs and to address End of Life components.
  • Give direction to lab technicians for testing and qualifying designs.
  • Write Standard Test Procedures (STPs) that give direction to technicians.
  • Write and/or approve test reports.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to support the overall product development efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
