About The Position

Performs a wide variety of technical tasks in the production/repair test environment. Individuals perform test, troubleshooting, and repairs on a wide variety of electronic and electromechanical assemblies and may assist in the development of procedures. Select, set up and operate electronic and scientific test equipment. Individual observes, analyzes, and reports test data, and when appropriate, makes necessary repairs/adjustments to equipment. Utilizes various engineering drawings, schematics, manuals, and related documentation to perform tasks. Checks work for correctness. May assist in directing work, assigning, and outlining tasks for bargaining unit personnel. Tasking may include repair and adjustment of analog, digital and high voltage circuits. Responsibilities: Individuals will possess 3 to 5 years of experience in the electronics industry or equivalent military electronics experience. Perform advanced cable testing and troubleshooting activities. Will utilize various types of test equipment developed for general cable testing or custom equipment designed to support specific systems. Equipment used will include DITMCO, CRALTS, CATS, CIRRUS, Multimeters, meggers, Huntron Tracker, Digital Volt Meters or similar cabling test equipment. Perform test, alignment, and troubleshooting on simple analog and digital circuits and assemblies. When troubleshooting, individuals will write clear comments in the S4 tracking system documenting test failures and the required rework tasking. Individuals will be required to professionally interact with Engineering, Operations Excellence, and Manufacturing Depot Operations (MDO) personnel. Maintain work area in an organized manner. Individuals will utilize PSL (Priority Sequence List) reports to prioritize workload within area. Individuals will support various programs across MDO. Individuals will provide cable troubleshooting support for cables integrated into assemblies. Pursue additional training opportunities to grow technician skills. Ensure calibrated equipment is within calibration due date. The ability to work well under pressure. Individuals will also be responsible for providing training as required or requested.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience testing and troubleshooting electronic circuitry.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings to perform measurements and troubleshoot electronic equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify alternate solutions to overcome technical challenges.
  • Ability to multitask and think outside the box.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office/ computers.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform component level troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) technology.
  • Ability to clearly document work performed in an electronic tracking system.
