About The Position

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. Under the direction of the Electronics Center Supervisor, the Electronic Technician is responsible for testing, troubleshooting and repairing all equipment manufactured in a fast-paced manufacturing environment using all available test equipment, procedures and equipment documentation/schematics to perform assessments. The Electronic Technician may also be called on by Customer Service to provide customer support in person and over the phone to resolve equipment issues; and will be expected to maintain quality and safety standards, keep accurate records, and maintain equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years degree in Electronics and/or equivalent military training.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related electronics field.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
  • Experience loading firmware and programming various IC’s.
  • Ability to work in team environment to achieve common goal.
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Remain standing on feet or sitting for long periods of time.
  • Frequent carrying, grasping, reaching, pulling, pulling, stooping for parts and supplies.
  • Safety glasses must be worn at all times
  • Safety shoes must be worn at all times
  • Must be able to work around flash or strobe lights

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building, troubleshooting and repairing computers, desktops and laptops.
  • Experience providing phone support for computer hardware and software
  • Requires Safe Work Habits.
  • Maintain good attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand complex assembly drawings and circuit schematics
  • Use all standard bench test equipment such as but not limited to: O-Scope, waveform monitors, signal generators, Frequency generators, power supplies and multi-meters.
  • Use all standard hand tools and power tools, including crimpers, engravers, drill presses etc.
  • Test, troubleshoot and repair both digital and analog circuits.
  • Solder and rework though hole and surface mount components.
  • Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  • Work in a high paced manufacturing environment and meet established workflow standards.
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task.
  • Follow all company safety rules, policies and quality standards.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Accomplish organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
