Position Summary: Provides timely and efficient technical support troubleshooting, installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems/equipment throughout manufacturing facility. Works under guidance of Plant Engineer.

Requirements

  • Technical/college degree in electrical, electronics, and/or automation engineering; will consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a maintenance/production environment
  • Electrical training/experience with 480 3 phases/machine controls – preferred
  • Experience with VFD Drives and PLC editing and programming a requirement
  • Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures required.
  • Familiar with all OSHA and GMP standards & requirements
  • Strong computer and math skills; Demonstrated technical/analytical skills; ability to interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to work 12-hour day and night rotating shift
  • Work overtime, weekends, holidays as required
  • Satisfactorily complete training courses as determined by management

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in mechanical, electrical and/or experience in blown film industries strongly preferred
  • Experience operating forklift equipment; forklift certification (will certify on site)

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electrical systems or prototypes, using hand tools or measuring instruments
  • Build, calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot, or repair electrical instruments or testing equipment.
  • Inspect electrical project work for quality control and assurance.
  • Identify solutions to on-site technical design problems involving electrical systems equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers or other personnel to identify, define, or solve developmental problems
  • Set up or operate test equipment to evaluate performance of developmental parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions
  • Review existing electrical engineering criteria to identify necessary revisions, deletions, or amendments to outdated material
  • Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, or systems to correct functional deviations
  • Prepare, review, or coordinate ongoing modifications to contract specifications or plans
  • Interpret test information to resolve design-related problems
  • Provide technical assistance in resolving electrical engineering problems encountered before, during, or after construction
  • Install or maintain electrical control systems or solid-state equipment
  • Evaluate engineering proposals, shop drawings, or design comments for sound electrical engineering practice or conformance with established safety or design criteria
  • Write engineering specifications to clarify design details or functional criteria of experimental electronics units
  • Plan method or sequence of operations for developing or testing experimental electronic or electrical equipment
  • Prepare electrical project cost or work-time estimates
  • Other duties as assigned
