About The Position

Valiant is looking for an Electronic Technician III to join our team.  In this role you will serve as an Electronic Technician III with responsibility for troubleshooting, repair, testing and pre-operational system check of a variety of audio and video equipment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years electrical background in audio and video equipment repair.
  • Formal experience in electronics and broadcasting systems operation and maintenance.
  • Able to operate PC with functional knowledge of Windows, iOS, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Able to maintain stock and inventory control of repair parts.
  • Able to provide cost estimates on repairs of the replacement of AV equipment.
  • Be proficient in the use of assigned studio broadcasting, electronic mechanical test equipment, instruments, special tools, measuring devices, soldering and safety equipment.
  • Ensure the production equipment is set up and complies with industry standards and that operation of equipment is within manufacturer's standards/specifications.
  • Must be able to listen and give instructions to less senior employees and to customers with problems.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance.  Active Secret Preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) to utilize government operating systems
  • Work under the direction of the supervisor and from written or verbal instructions, blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and design specifications.
  • Must be able to lift 45 lb.

Responsibilities

  • Functional tests consisting of performing operational and diagnostic checks.
  • Responsible for scheduling preventive maintenance, unscheduled (corrective) maintenance on all equipment.
  • Notify and coordinate with customers on loaned AV equipment that is due for scheduled maintenance.
  • Perform cross leveling tasks as necessary, to enhance mission accomplishment.
  • Work will be performed within TSC facilities and at unspecified "on-site" locations.
  • Provide customer assistance and advice in a proficient and professional manner.
  • Safeguard and maintain Government furnished equipment, materials and facilities.
  • Inspect, service, test, perform preventive maintenance and repair Broadcast Television equipment. IAW applicable technical publications.
  • Inspect, service, test, perform preventive maintenance and repair all audio and audio associated equipment. IAW applicable technical publications.
  • Install broadcast, television, audio, fiber optic and local area network equipment.
  • Provide technical assistance to personnel assigned to inspect, repair and maintain equipment.
  • Operate all TMDE equipment and provide technical assistance in AV productions.
  • Perform AV equipment set ups and pre-operational checks before customer operation.
  • Receive and inspect AV equipment upon customer return of equipment.
  • Operate AV equipment and systems in support of productions and projects.
  • Provide technical advice to customers.
  • Ensure Key Control procedures are followed In Accordance with TSC guidelines.
  • Ensure adherence to Company policies, practices and procedures.
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed, and Quality Control standards are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Independently perform installation, maintenance, modification, troubleshooting, operation, adjustment, calibration, focus, certification of electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical video studio equipment to include television cameras, viewfinders, monitors, waveform monitors, amplifiers, speakers, titlers, switchers, mixers, recorders, and associated equipment.
  • Operate and perform technical, service and quality control inspections on assigned television and radio broadcasting studio equipment/systems on a scheduled periodic basis, daily or as required.
  • Operate and use assigned electronic and mechanical test equipment, instruments, special tools, measuring devices, soldering and safety equipment.
  • Establish and maintain forms, records and logs as required.
  • Maintain repair parts inventory.
  • Operate and maintain all in-house television production equipment, such as cameras, playback systems and associated equipment.
  • Provide guidance and technical instruction to subordinate technicians.
  • Perform other related functions necessary to accomplish assigned duties or tasks.
  • Monitor the maintenance program and maintain required records, logs, charts and documentation.
  • Provide consultation and other assistance when required.
  • Be familiar with operating directives, security, and housekeeping relative to electronic maintenance.
  • Perform cross leveling tasks as necessary, to enhance mission accomplishment.
