About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Security Specialist to support a major transportation security program focused on protecting passengers, employees, and critical assets. This role involves working on all phases of physical and electronic security projects, including vulnerability assessments, design reviews, construction oversight, and system acceptance testing. The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled individual contributor who thrives in a cross-functional environment and demonstrates exceptional communication and relationship management skills.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in designing and applying physical/electronic security systems for at least two sectors: Commercial Office Industrial Transportation Systems Transportation Infrastructure
  • 10+ years creating detailed functional designs and Concepts of Operation (CONOPS) using risk mitigation techniques: Video Surveillance Physical Access Control Portal-based Intrusion Detection Wide-area Perimeter Intrusion Detection Active Deterrents Physical Barriers Psychological Barriers
  • Current PSP or CPP certification (ASIS International).
  • Current CPD certification (National Institute of Crime Prevention).

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications from IP-CCTV manufacturers (Axis, Avigilon, Sony, Bosch, etc.).
  • Certifications from VMS manufacturers (Avigilon, Genetec, Milestone, etc.).
  • Certifications from PACS manufacturers (Galaxy, Lenel/S2, Software House, etc.).
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards (NEC/NFPA 70, ADA, ICC, ASCE).
  • Knowledge of inter-city passenger rail operations and related safety/security regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication with technical and financial stakeholders.
  • Highly motivated, proactive, and adaptable in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in security vulnerability assessments and design reviews for physical and electronic security systems.
  • Support construction and implementation of security designs.
  • Conduct system acceptance testing and validation.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and wear required PPE during fieldwork.
