About The Position

The general role of a Technician II – Electronic Security and Safety is to respond to first level support of service requests and field installation such as troubleshooting and repairing cabling systems and equipment. This will include electronic security, access control, and fire alarm systems along with other related electrical systems. This position must be flexible and willing to travel with occasional overnight stays and work extended hours as needed. The Technician II will report to the Department Manager – Electronic Security and Safety and will work primarily out of their assigned location.

Requirements

  • 1-year relevant experience in commercial/industrial electronic security solutions required
  • Proficient in 1 or more: fire alarm, video surveillance, or access control in the field
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Ability to recognize colors
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Ability to use a variety of basic hand and power tools
  • Willingness to obtain and maintain relevant manufacturer training courses
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers and customers
  • Must be dependable, trustworthy, and possess a positive and productive attitude
  • Possess a working knowledge of computers and servers
  • Ability to work independently and with co-workers

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of Fiber Optics preferred
  • Previous customer service experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Analyze blueprints, schematics and drawings of network, fire, security and/or other related electrical systems
  • Install electronic security products such as cameras, NVRS, DVRS, access control, intercoms, gate operators, fire alarm systems, and networks
  • Install EMT and rigid conduit
  • Inspect electrical, security, fire and networking systems and their components for possible repairs or maintenance
  • Install electrical system components as assigned (i.e. panels, audible/visual alarms, pull stations, detectors, switches, cameras, servers, card readers, etc.)
  • Prepare written materials to document activities and/or convey information
  • Remain detail oriented and methodical when troubleshooting
  • Work patiently and maintain positive communication with customers
  • Respond to emergency situations as needed
  • Assist in training Technician I’s
