About The Position

The Electronic Payments Fraud Analyst is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and investigating potential fraud across ACH, FedNow, and RTP transactions. The position ensures compliance with updated NACHA requirements, strengthens fraud prevention controls, and supports the integrity of the organization’s electronic payment operations. This role provides ongoing risk assessment, reporting, and escalation support to leadership.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 3 years related experience and/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and understand common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents; Ability to respond to complex or difficult inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • AAP Required
  • Intermediate: 10-Key, Accounting, Alphanumeric Data Entry, Contact Management, Database, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
  • Basic: Human Resources Systems, Payroll Systems, Presentation/PowerPoint
  • requires experience monitoring electronic payment channels (ACH, FedNow, RTP) and identifying fraud-related activity

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily reviews of ACH, FedNow, and RTP transactions to identify anomalies, unusual customer behavior, or indicators of potential fraud.
  • Collaborate with internal department as well as external financial institutions to validate transactions, resolve disputes, and coordinate fraud related inquiries
  • Oversee risk assessments, internal audits, and ongoing control reviews for FedNow and other real time payment services.
  • Communicate fraud strategies to assist in keeping the bank safe and prevent future fraud events.
  • Stay up to date on fraud and updates management on a weekly basis.
  • The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned.
  • Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
